4 Simple Questions to Refocus Your Business
Let me tell you about Sally.
Sally had potential, but for the past year she resisted change. Her marketing was a couple of random, cheesy videos online that attracted the wrong crowd. She proudly called herself a “top marketer,” but the results told a different story. Those videos didn’t bring business. They weren’t a plan.
This is the trap many agents fall into: confusing activity with strategy. Marketing isn’t about flash. It’s about substance, systems, and consistency. Without a strong framework, it doesn’t matter how much you post, how many times you switch brokerages, or how many excuses you make.
Sadly, Sally gave up and left the industry.
Here’s the reality: 88.5% of agents have done fewer than 5 deals this year. The market has shifted, but are you shifting with it?
Sally thought she was busy, but she wasn’t building a business. When I meet agents in the same place, I’ll often start by asking: What does your day look like? How are you generating leads and following up? What systems guide your buyer and seller work? How often are you connecting with your database?
Today is the perfect time to reset and refocus for the rest of the year. Ask yourself:
- What do I need to stop doing?
- What do I need to start doing?
- What do I need to do less of?
- What’s working that I should do more of?
Take a few minutes to write down your answers, then choose one change you will commit to this week. Small steps, done consistently, create big results.
It all starts with you.
Wishing you a productive and powerful week ahead.
