Swimming Naked!

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a thought from Warren Buffett that’s been on my mind lately: “Only when the tide goes out do you discover who’s been swimming naked.” It’s a powerful way to say that when things get tough, the truth about our practices really comes to light.

In real estate, we often see a lot of hype. Social media can make it seem like everyone’s closing deals left and right. But when the market slows down, all that noise can fade away, and we start to see who’s really been putting in the work versus who’s just been riding the wave of good times.

The Truth Comes Out

When the market isn’t buzzing with activity, it’s easy to start blaming the conditions for a dip in sales. But instead of focusing on the market’s mood, it’s a great time to look at our own routines and strategies. Are we sticking to the basics, or have we let them slide in favor of flashier tactics?

Stick to the Basics

When the going gets tough, going back to the basics can be a game-changer. Here’s what I mean:

  1. Consistent Prospecting: Make it a habit to reach out to new leads and stay in touch with past clients. This isn’t something you can skip.
  2. Follow-Ups: Keep those conversations going. A simple follow-up can make all the difference in keeping your leads warm.
  3. Planning: Set some clear goals and map out a plan to hit them. Regular check-ins and adjustments will keep you on track.
  4. Daily Routine: Focus on the activities that matter most every day. It’s easy to get distracted, but staying on task is key.

Keep It Up

The secret to weathering any storm is staying consistent with these fundamental practices. They might seem simple, but they’re what will keep you steady and successful, no matter what the market throws at us.

So, when the tide goes out, make sure you’re not caught off guard. Stick to the basics, keep your efforts consistent, and you’ll be in a great position to tackle whatever comes next.

Let’s keep pushing forward and focusing on what we can control.

Wishing you a productive week ahead!
