A Little Gratitude This Monday
Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends.
I’ll keep this one short because hopefully you’re spending today with people you care about and not sitting around reading emails.
We spend so much of our time focused on what’s next. The next lead, the next deal, the next goal, or the next problem we need to solve. And when you’re in the middle of a tough market, it’s easy to forget just how blessed we really are.
We have our health, our families and friends, people who care about us, and the opportunity to wake up every day and do something that matters.
We get to help people through some of the biggest moments of their lives.
A young couple gets the keys to their first home. A family finds the extra space they need as they grow. Someone downsizes after decades in a home filled with memories and starts a new chapter.
That’s not a small thing.
What we do is about so much more than selling houses. We help people make decisions that can change their lives, create stability and build wealth for generations. We get a front row seat to so many of those moments.
And we get the opportunity to build a business of our own, work with great people and grow along the way.
Not many careers give you that.
As a coach and trainer who has spent a lot of years in this business, I’m grateful for the people in it. I’m grateful for those of you who show up every week, keep doing the work when nobody is watching and continue taking care of your clients even when the market makes your job harder.
Before you get on with your day, I have one small challenge for you.
Pick three past clients and send each of them a short, personal note or text. No market update. No asking for referrals. No business attached to it.
Just tell them you’re thankful they trusted you with their move and that you hope they’re still loving their home.
It’ll take you ten minutes, and it’s the kind of thing people remember.
Enjoy the turkey, enjoy the people around your table and take a moment today to appreciate what you have, how far you’ve come and just how fortunate we really are.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Talk soon,
Kory
