Would You Hire You?

This one’s coming in hot, because it’s something I feel strongly about. I really don’t like giving business to people who don’t care about doing a good job. Whether it’s a contractor who ghosts you, or a service provider who clearly stopped trying a long time ago,  I’m done with it. And I bet you are too.
Here’s the thing: most people stay loyal to mediocre service out of convenience. But we shouldn’t.  And neither should your clients.
If you’re not great at your job, your clients will quietly stop coming back. They won’t refer you. They’ll move on.
That’s the cold, hard truth in our industry. And in a slower market like this, the stakes are even higher.
So ask yourself:
Are you truly giving white-glove, concierge-level service? Are you following up with care, writing with clarity, negotiating with confidence, and returning calls promptly?
Now is the perfect time to audit your customer experience and level up the areas that have slipped.
Here are 3 simple things you can do this week:
  1. Review your last 3 client experiences.
Would you refer yourself? Where did you underdeliver? What would you do differently next time?
  2. Practice your communication.
That includes how you speak, how you write, and how you listen. Clear, confident communication builds trust fast.
  3. Make your service feel special.
Are your touch-points personalized? Are you treating every client like they matter deeply, because they do?
Throw your energy and money behind being the professional people rave about. The one who gets referred without being asked. That’s the win/win. And remember, mediocrity is replaceable. Excellence is magnetic.
Wishing you a purposeful, productive week ahead.
