From Blue Monday to One Good Day!

Today is Monday, January 19, often referred to as the most depressing day of the year.

Short days. Cold weather. Big goals that already feel heavier than expected. For many people, it all seems to hit at once.

Here’s the important reminder. A label does not get to decide how your week goes unless you allow it to.

All of your dreams and goals sit on the other side of helping other people reach theirs.

In real estate, people don’t buy or sell a home randomly. There is always a reason behind the move. A change. A decision point. A problem they are trying to solve.

Your job isn’t to push. It’s to find the reason.

That’s why conversations are one of your most important core competencies, and why at least 50 percent of your workday should be spent in activities that directly create conversations and clarity.

If today feels heavier than usual, don’t try to win the whole week before noon. Focus on doing the right work, one step at a time.

Here’s a simple structure to follow this week.

  1. Block two hours per day.
  2. Use that time to make real calls to past clients, your sphere, and old leads. Not checking in. Not pitching. Real conversations.
  3. Aim for 10 meaningful conversations a day. Those 10 conversations typically create about five opportunities to provide real value.

Those five value moments often lead to two business opportunities, either now or in the future.

Keep the conversations direct and clear. Who needs clarity in the next 90 days.

Then follow up with purpose. Book appointments. Set next steps. Move people forward.

If today has been labeled depressing, take that as a challenge. Decide that today is the day you prove to yourself that momentum is a choice, even on a so called Blue Monday.

Wishing you a productive week ahead.
