And just like that, here comes September
Well, here we are, it’s the last Monday of August, and as we slowly wrap up August this week, I want to share a challenge with you. September always brings a natural reset, kids are back to school, routines return, and the pace of business picks up.
For us in real estate, this is a pivotal moment. We have four months left in 2025, and the way you approach them will not only define your year-end but also set the tone for 2026.
To help you maximize this window, here’s a simple two-part framework before the long weekend: Reflect and Reset.
Before charging ahead, pause to look back at your year so far. Take 30 minutes over the weekend and ask yourself:
- What have been my biggest wins this year?
- What challenges have I faced, and what lessons came from them?
- Where did I fall short, and what patterns do I need to avoid repeating?
Reflection gives you perspective. It allows you to acknowledge progress, extract learning, and reset with clarity.
Then it’s time to reset for the last four months:
- Choose a focus. Decide on the single most important priority that will make the biggest difference in your business. Don’t try to fix everything, clarity creates momentum.
- Sharpen routines. Treat September like a fresh January. Tighten your mornings, plan your days, and commit to consistency.
- Reconnect intentionally. Write down the names of the top people you need to call, meet, or reconnect with in September, and schedule those touches now.
- Step into action. Remember, momentum is built by daily effort, not by waiting for the “right time.”
September is the real new year in our business. Most agents will ease into it. The top performers will accelerate. Choose which one you’ll be.
