2010 Life Lessons …
Here’s a list of 30 life lessons I learned in 2010.
- Your health is your life.
- Your spouse is your best friend.
- Bad things happen to good people too.
- If you are going through hell, you should keep going.
- Laughing, crying, joy and anger… all are vital, and all make us human.
- Good things happen to good people. Be good.
- Time heals all wounds… regardless of how you feel right now
- Most of the time what you are looking for is right in front of you.
- People come in to our lives for a reason, and for a limited time. Heed the message they bring.
- People deserve a second chance, but not a third.
- Stay away from negative, 2-faced people. They are energy vampires. Choose your friends wisely.
- If someone talks behind other people, they also talk about you. Be careful.
- Take lots of pictures. Someday you’ll be really glad you did.
- Purposely ignoring the obvious is like walking backwards toward the enemy.
- Motivation comes in short bursts. Act while it’s hot.
- Uncertainty is caused by a lack of knowledge. Hesitation is the product of fear.
- Chance is a gift, so act on chance when given the opportunity.
- Kindness and hard work will take you further than intelligence, although both go hand-in-hand.
- Stepping outside of your comfort zone will put things into perspective from an angle you can’t grasp now.
- The purpose of your life is to truly live before your die, and the purpose of business is to fund that perfect life.
- No one succeeds alone. You should be open to, and grateful for the wisdom and assistance of others.
- There is enough money and business out there for everyone. With an “scarcity” mindset, you will only attract scarcity. You should adopt a “plenty” mindset and watch what happens next.
- My job is all about service and servant leadership. Not subservient, but serving others so that they can achieve their goals.
- My job is also about “prospecting”. Every single day!
- You should provide the kind of service to others that you’d like to receive yourself.
- Your income is the average of the 5 people closest to you. If you want to raise your income, you should hang around with people who make more than you do.
- A referral is sending someone you care about to someone you trust. If I want more referrals, I should become a person of high trust.
- My clients hate salespeople, and love people who consult with them and provide them with options.
- What you focus on, shows up more in your life.
- You should be the “change”, you want to see in the world. (I’d like to live by this Gandhi quote every day)
So let it be written, so let it be done.
