Great Gulf Homes have announced that they will be partnering with Phantom Developments for the launch of  Cumberland Condos, located at 8 Cumberland in the heart of Yorkville at Yonge and Cumberland .

Leslie Nymark Revitalization Proposal

Nymark-Revitalization-PlanThe Toronto Community Housing is proposing to  work together with the City of Toronto and private development partners, to transform aging housing infrastructure to build better homes and better neighbourhoods.

Location: Leslie Street north of Sheppard Avenue East, a short walk from the TTC’s Leslie subway station

Project Start Date: Construction to begin in 2017
Anticipated Project Length: 2011-2019
Total Size: 7 acres
Amenities: A new community open space feature with playground, indoor amenity rooms for residents, enhanced access to the Don Valley Ravine

Development Plan: The Master Site Plan for Leslie Nymark  includes a mix of 764 market and rental townhouses and apartments across the 6.5 acre site. All 121 existing rent-geared-to-income units will be replaced on site.

In addition, proposal is in place to construct an additional 3 to 5 one- and two-bedroom units, to ensure smaller households can continue to live in the community who would otherwise be transferred out due to right sizing, since there are no one- and two-bedroom units in Leslie Nymark. The revitalization will take place over two phases and is targeted for completion by 2020.

1 Yorkville Condos

1-yorkville-towerBazis and Plaza are planning a new 58 storey condominium project at 1 Yorkville Avenue on the south side of Yorkville Avenue and on the west side of Yonge Street across from the Toronto Reference Library. Designed by architect Rosario Varacalli, the project involves preserving the existing 3 storey heritage buildings that feature retail on the ground level on Yonge Street which dates back to the early 1860’s.  The project will extend to the south west corner of Yorkville Ave and Yonge Street which is the current site of the Cookbook Store.

The 55 storey tower will rise above the existing heritage base buildings and will feature a total of 577 residential units made up of 68 one bedrooms, 365 one bedrooms plus den, 87 two bedrooms and 57 three bedroom plus den suites.

Amenity space for the condo tower will be on the 4th and 5th floors.  A roof terrace on top of the 3 storey heritage base building will be accessed from the 4th floor.  The exterior of the building will feature balconies and will also be clad with an exo-skelton angled panels to create a 3D effect.
